FABER CASTELL 36/24 MULTI COLOR BALLPOINT PEN
파버카스텔 36/24 멀티펜
Even though Faber Castell is usually famous for pens other than multi color pens, which is more familiar to us with Japanese brands, Faber Castell has made multi color pens from time to time.
I have two kinds: one is the modern Multi Twice model, while the other is the vintage Colorex series.
The model I have has the number 36/24, and there existed models with similar numbers like 33/55, 33/75, and so on.
Considering the Colorex gold and silver multipens, I mentioned above, had model numbers 36/70 and 36/66, I speculate they might have come from the same era.
However, this conjecture doesn't guarantee anything since we already know the Wertfullers with model number 36/50 and 36/56, which were made in 1936.
There's no way this multi color pen was made in 1930s, and this model was expected to be made in 1970s as Colorex models, taking things into account.
It's interesting that some people claim they were from 1950s, but I don't know the answer.
I couldn't find any reference to estimate its age, like the advertisement, so I'd not determine its age until I find some evidence.
It is quite a thick, silver color multi color pen with polygonal metal body.
Faber Castell 36/24 made in Germany.
The front end has no patterns and rounded unlike the main body.
The main body has two types of patterns - one is stripe patterns and the other is a dotted pattern looking like a guilloche pattern.
Both patterns arise in an alternative way.
This pen supports four colors - black, blue, red, and green.
It's easy to choose the color.
One needs to pull down the corresponding knob.
The back end of the pen looks like wearing a hat.
Here's the instruction manual!
It tells 36 series runs by 24, 22, and 44.
It describes how to use this multi color pen in 5 languages.
36/22 model was a 2-color multi color pen, and 36/24 and 36/44 were 4-color multi color pens.
It might be deduced the last digit indicate the number of colors, but this does not work for 33/75 model since I know it also supports 4 colors.
The backside shows how to use the pen and how to change the refill in detail.
I enclose it for the interested readers.
