FABER CASTELL COLOREX GOLD & SILVER

Colorex lines are multipen lines of Faber Castell.
They are surely discontinued since we can't see them for now.
I wanted to find out when they were made and discontinued, but I couldn't get much information.

Some people say they were produced during 1960s-70s, and that might be true.
Although colorexs aren't seen that well, I've seen several colorexs.
Therefore, I can convince that these gold & silver editions are rare.
I found one silver edition was sold in the past, but couldn't find about the gold edition.

Colorexs usually have bicolor of plastic body, or different colors of metal&plastic body.
I suppose these full metal bodies with gold and silver color are limited editions.

First the gold edition.
This one literally has a full gold color!
Including the clip, the ring, and even the push button.
Every part is gold colored as if Midas touched it.

Colorex name on the clip.
Empfohl preis (=recommended price) is 22.50 DM.
It's not exact, but 22.5 DM in 1970s converts to around $40 in these days.

The model number is 36 70.

36 70 is not included in the enclosed instruction manual.
This might be because 36 70 model was limited edition.
Since it was not produced much, it just has a common manual, not its exclusive one.
It is my conjecture of course.

The manual explains that colorex is a gravity multipen.
It has 4-colors.

Likewise, the silver edition is full silver color.

FABER CASTELL COLOREX GOLD & SILVER

It was nearly half price of the gold edition.
Interestingly, the shape of the sticker and the way the price is indicated is different.
What made this differences?
Did they come from different ages?

The model number is 36 66, which is included in the instruction manual.
Vertical stripes see more clearly in this color.
