- ABSTRACT -

Since after the establishment of Faber Castell in 1761, how many anniversaries has Faber Castell met?

To my poor knowledge, I haven't seen any products made for the anniversaries earlier than 1911. (Like 50th and 100th anniversaries.)

I once introduced 1861 patent leadholder, but this was not made to celebrate its 100th birthday.

The first anniversary product therefore appeared in 1911 to celebrate its 150th birthday.

In 1911, A.W. FABER celebrated its birthday in two ways - one was the jubilee pencil with its special tin case.

This navy hexagonal pencil is the predecessor of 7408 pencil.

The other was 150th anniversary tin case for its famous flagship, Castell 9000.

This tin case had 150th anniversary printing and came with a leaflet for the anniversary.

Other pencils made in 1911 also seemed to have this leaflet, but I guess they didn't have their own special cases.

The next event waited until 1936, its 175th birthday.

A.W. FABER published an anniversary journal, like 250th anniversary book published in 2011.

A.W. FABER is also known to unveil the Castell fountain pens in 1936.

The 175th anniversary book tells it was 1935, so this information might be wrong.

The monumental 200th birthday in 1961 was celebrated with the giant triangular pencil.

There also existed the ballpoint pen counterpart with exactly the same design.

They have scenery of Faber Castell plants on the two sides.

Since then, Faber Castell started to celebrate its anniversaries diligently.

222nd birthday in 1983 was commemorated with Castell 9000 pencils, and 225th birthday in 1986 with the gorgeous pencils named "6 pencils in 6 epochs."

230th anniversary in 1991 accompanied the famous Alpha-matic gold, which is one of the dream-pen for mechanical pencil collectors.

240th anniversary in 2001 was congratulated by the most expensive pencil in the world, the Perfect Pencil Whitegold.

Faber Castell released Elemento series and logo pencils for its significant 250th anniversary.

260th anniversary was celebrated with jubilee Perfect Pencil again, and Loom fountain pen in dark green color.

There have also been many other anniversary pens, and I believe most of them are listed below.
