A.W. FABER 1800S NO.3 BLACK PENCIL WITH CIRCULAR IVORY TOP
A.W. FABER 1800년대 아이보리 탑 흑색 연필
From now on, I'm going to post several antique pencils, made in the 19th century, in a row.
I might not have much to say about each pencil, but I've decided to do it this way since I acknowledge each pencil has a meaning.
Everyone of them is a very old pencil made by A.W. FABER, and some of them can be found in the catalog.
The first session would be this black pencil with ivory circular top.
To talk about the shape of the top, it is identical to this one.
No.3 pencil.
Old A.W. FABER's document claims No.3 grade refers to HB grade, hard and black.
The brand name is inscribed in gold letter.
The circular ivory top is not flat, rather it is convex instead.
Despite much time has passed, perhaps around 150 years, it preserves a clean shape.
I wonder which shape the lead has.
Circular or square?
I can't know the answer unless I see the cross sectional view.
