A.W. FABER CASTELL SHORT PENCIL (+ BONUS)
A.W. FABER 카스텔 미니 연필 + 보너스
In the recent post of Castell 9004 pencil, I mentioned diverse family members of Castell pencil lines.
This one is one of them.
Don't misjudge this is a used Castell pencil!
It was short from the beginning.
One way to distinguish it from used short pencils is observing its spaces between letters and castle symbols.
You might confer photos of other Castell pencils below.
It will convince you this pencil was born to be short.
A.W. FABER made Castell hexagonal pocket pencil with screws at the end under the name 9042.
This one is also hexagonal, without the screw though.
It's interesting there were various Castell pocket pencils - we've already seen this flat pocket pencil too.
Was Castell pencil extender had something to do with this short pencil?
Nothing one the backside so it simply looks like a normal pencil.
You can find this short pencil at the center top.
It makes a set with the pencil cap I posted last time.
This photo is really beautiful, and I wonder if I can collect every one of them whenever I see this.
If this is the end of the story, it'd be a little bit disappointing.
Here are some additional stuffs!
First one is a copying pencil.
This is Castell 9100 pencil, even though its model number is not written anywhere.
Castell pencils have nearly inifinite revised versions, yet the earliest version has this kind of phrase on the backside.
Since it is a copying pencil, it says *THE FINEST AND BEST COPYING PENCIL*(SOFT).
9100 for soft and 9101 for hard.
The bonus hasn't ended yet!
Here are two old tin cases of Castell pencils, which were used around 1911.
One of them was made in 1911, which celebrated the 150th anniversary of A.W. FABER.
The other one seems to be made later than 1911 since it says "more than 150 years."
A leaflet celebrating its 150th anniversary is also enclosed, and three antique Castell 9000 pencils are there too.
