A.W. FABER THICK PENCIL WITH SPHERICAL TOP
A.W. FABER 구형 탑 연필
Another A.W. FABER's 1800s pencil.
This one has an ivory spherical top with reddish brown body.
The thickness of the pencil is as normal as most pencils, but named it "thick" pencil to differentiate it from "thinner" pencils which will come in the successive posts.
A.W. FABER's logo is deeply engraved on it.
In contrast with other pencils, this one doesn't have the lead grade.
Does this point suggest something?
For instance, earlier A.W. FABER's pencils didn't indicate its grade explicitly.
It could be possible this pencil didn't service diverse grades, so there was no need to specify its grade.
As usual as most other pencils.
Spherical ivory top.
I still don't know for which purpose this top exists.
Another model had holes to hang a ring at the top, however this one doesn't have such holes.
I believe this top wasn't made for aesthetic intent.
