FABER CASTELL DISCONTINUED E-MOTION BALLPOINT PENS

Faber Castell's E-motion series features the cigar shaped short and stubby body.
This shape is more apparent to mechanical pencils and ballpoint pens rather than fountain pens, so I prefer them.

E-motion lines are actively made to these days with various colors and material.
However, there were surprisingly many discontinued models in this series.
Those discontinued models usually have plastic barrels.

The first one is one of such kind.
This one has an ivory colored plastic barrel.
I've seen white colors several times, but this ivory color was totally new to me.

I don't think this was discolored.
I believe it was an ivory color from the beginning.

As a comparison, here is a white color version.
The difference in colors are immediately noticeable.
The red color one is a bonus, and these also have plastic barrels.

One thing I'd like to mention is, the white version has another type of white version.
The black version also had two separate models, and my guess is white and black versions were treated in special way.

At first, plastic versions were made in colors like red, blue, yellow, white, and black.
And later, new white and black versions were made.
Of course, I'm claiming this with no proviso, so it is nothing but a hypothesis.

Among discontinued E-motion models, this one is somewhat special.
The barrel is made of rubber, not plastic as others.

These were called soft-grips as far as I know, and two colors existed.
One is the gray color in the photo, and the other one is raspberry color.
I'm still finding the raspberry color, but it's not easy to find it.
Instead, I have a hibiscus red model, which was released as a limited edition.

Unlike plastic models, this one has both ends made of chrome metal.

The barrel is highly susceptible to heat, and I think this was why Faber Castell decided to stop making this model.

The last one is a cow model.
I have many other animal versions.
All of them were discontinued, and you can find them under the category of E-motion.
