FABER CASTELL - OSMIA BIG SIZE FOUNTAIN PEN 448
파버카스텔 448 점보 만년필
I'm happy to introduce this magnificent giant fountain pen!
This 448 fountain pen was made to compete with Montblanc's 149 giant fountain pen.
446 and 448 fountain pens were in charge of the most prestigious line in the mid 1950s. (I wonder their prices.)
Moreover, this 448 model was in fact the hugest fountain pen made by Faber Castell - Osmia!
There are no Osmia's name on the barrel, and only the name Faber Castell is written in gold letters.
448 M is also colored in gold.
The barrel is black just as many other Osmia fountain pens.
The bottom of the cap is adorned with three gold trims, and the middle one is especially thick!
This design can only be seen in this series. (I mean, of course, among Faber Castell - Osmia fountain pens.)
Osmia's diamond trade mark is bounded by a gold ring.
Osmia Supra 14K bicolor gold nib.
The nib was discolored though.
Just as the pen itself, the nib is also big size.
I should compare its size to other fountain pens.
So I brought Faber Castell - Osmia's 664 fountain pen!
As you can see, 448 model is longer and thicker (and hence more attractive to me.)
In the top view, it feels like the difference in radii of 448 model and others comes precisely from the gold ring.
In these days, Faber Castell still makes giant fountain pens including POTYs, but this 448 model has an incomparable and invariant title - it was the giantest fountain pen made by Faber Castell and Osmia.
