A.W.FABER - OSMIA FOUNTAIN PEN 113E BURGUNDY COLOR
파버카스텔 - 오스미아 만년필 113E 버건디
Among so many fountain pens made by Osmia after Faber Castell started to take over Osmia, this one must be one of the oldest fountain pens.
This fountain pen has the very uncommon appearance.
Unlike most Osmia's fountain pens, its barrel and cap have dissonant colors.
The important point is here.
As I discussed in this post, the way Faber Castell marked its name has changed as time goes on.
This fountain pen doesn't belong to any one of them.
In this pen, A.W.FABER is written above Osmia's name.
That is, this fountain pen was made before Faber Castell used the name A.W.FABER-CASTELL.
Hence, I guess this was made around when 36/50 fountain pen was made, right after Faber Castell started to acquire Osmia.
Its model number is 113E.
I don't know the meaning of E, so its model number could simply be 113.
Unlike the barrel with burgundy color, the cap is made of metal.
It is written A.W.FABER on the gold clip, instead of Osmia, just as 36/50 fountain pen.
The cap's metalic color looks a bit simple.
There is no diamond mark on top of the cap.
Luckily, this part has the same burgundy color as the barrel.
I thought this top part is just burgundy color, but I saw someone says this is an amber.
This end point is a little transparent, so it seems not to be a plastic, but is it really an amber? I'm not sure.
There are some Osmia's 113 fountain pens on the Google, but I couldn't find about this 113E model.
Moreover, those models didn't have A.W.FABER's name.
I guess what I have is the very early version of 113 models.
Those models were made upto 1950s but they didn't have A.W.FABER's name on the barrel and the clip.
Its grip looks very strange.
The end of the grip is thicker than the body, and has the black color.
The grip and the barrel are connected by a ring, for unknown reasons.
I still don't understand the role of the ring.
Also, this one has a silver color nib, not gold nib, like this silver color fountain pen.
It is written 3 inside the diamond mark.
