Until now, Graf von Faber Castell has released 20 POTYs since 2003.
All of them have definite comcepts and their own unique beauties.
The first generation belong were made of valuable material in nature, and the second generation got motifs from the historical things.
If you ask me, I prefer the first generation.
Even though this POTY 2004 doesn't have special meanings as other POTYs I collected, I've been always thinking to get this someday since I thought this model is really beautiful.
Thankfully, my grandmother bought this to me.
Interestingly, this model has an amber gemstone on the case.
It's unlike other POTYs and I love this point.
This yellow dot is so lovely that even the case feels special.
It contains a brochure and warranty cards as other POTYs.
The color of the pen makes a perfect match with the ivory colored seat.
One distinctive point of POTY 2004 is that it has rings in the barrel.
This design is reminiscent of anello models.
Every amber has different colors and patterns.
Some have very deep yellow colors, while the other have milky colors.
All 6 amber parts are unique and adorable.
These were meticulously crafted by the artisan who restored the amber room.
The legendary amber room, made by the Prussian king Friedrich I in 1701, got damaged during the World War II.
Only the bottom part is adorned with amber gemstone.
It'd have been much better if the cap were also decorated with the amber.
Anyway, POTY 2004 used 8 amber gemstones in total including the case.
Its serial number. (NO. XXXX)
Early POTYs didn't tell how many of them exist.
Now we know that POTY 2004 were made in 2300 pieces.
This is the only POTY that were made more than 2000 pieces. (POTY 2005 has two color versions with each 2000 pieces though.)
1st generation POTYs didn't have its own nib.
They simply use 18K bicolor gold nib.
There is also a window on the grip.
