As well known, Waterman is the father of modern fountain pen.
Waterman also showed the first fountain pen with clip.
Waterman, started in the US, succeeded to expand to European market, but its fame didn't last long.
The company soon fell behind other American fountain pen companies - Parker and Sheaffer.

Waterman's most lineups were discontinued and even its name is celebrous, Waterman doesn't live on its past glory.
This Phileas lines were discontinued as well.

WATERMAN PHILEAS FOUNTAIN PEN

The name Phileas originated from the ficfitious character Phileas Fogg.
Waterman might have wanted this fountain pen to be loved worldwide, endowing this name.

The fountain pen has marble patterns on both the cap and the barrel.
Other colors are also available like green or red.
The pattern looks like an ink diffusing in the water, so I like this pattern.
We often observe this when we clean the fountain pen nibs.
