Sheaffer is the American stationery company, which was founded in 1912.
Its trade mark is the big white dot, which is related to its lifetime warranty policy.
Sheaffer opened the golden age of fountain pens, and was once the rival of Parker.
However, the company failed to maintain its reputation.
It was acquired by Bic, and then Cross, and even by an Indian company for now.
Everybody knows the name Sheaffer, but there is no more Sheaffer that we knew.
This fountain pen is luckily not that bad model.
I posted Sheaffer's vintage prelude pen before.
This fountain pen is also prelude series, and it is called prelude rainbow.
As you see, there is no need to explain the origin of its name.
The full body, except for few metal parts, are shining with rainbow colors.
I bought this about 15 years ago, and this was my best pen for a long time.
I'm always delightful when I observe how it twinkles.

I heard that Sheaffer pens are produced in China or turkey for now.
It seems that the last American Sheaffer's plant was closed in 2008.
We can't see US made Sheaffer pens any more.

Sheaffer promoted that the warranty is valid until this white dot is removed.
This dot is not removed easily, so it is a lifetime warranty in fact.

It is simply rounded and has the same rainbow color.

Although the company stopped using that name in 1960s, the nib still used that name.
