A.W. FABER 1800S SILVER MINI MECHANICAL PENCIL WITH FLOWER PATTERNS
A.W. FABER 1800년대 꽃무늬 미니 샤프
I've been posting mini sliding mechanical pencils recently.
Even though all of them don't have clear evidence to estimate their age or origin, I've been notating them as 1800s mechanical pencils.
It's purely based on the fact that they were usually made in the 19th century, and many claims they were made in Paris if I take one step further.
Now, let's begin our last journey.
As the other two could, this one also allows convenient keeping by sliding both ends inside the barrel.
When things are put inside, the pen becomes like the above photo.
It originally looks in this way.
Compared to the previous ones, it is much larger and it has a silvery color.
The flower patterns cover both sides and the barrel.
It is written A.W. FABER.
Even the cone part is decorated with flowers.
Most parts are stalks and leaves, but you can see a clear flower here.
Five petals with stamen and pistil.
Throughtout the history, plants have provided an infinite source of inspiration, and there existed similar design pocket pencils too.
Did you even know that A.W. FABER also produced pencils with flower patterns in 1800s?
Like others, the backside has stripe patterns, but this one also has flower patterns right at the end.
It's glad this one has a lead.
About 150 years have passed but this one still works!
I wonder which diameter is used for this kind of mechanical pencils.
I have three of them, but everyone of them has distinctive size.
I migjt be wrong, it seems they all require different lead sizes though.
