- ABSTRACT -

Perfect Pencil first appeared in 1993 as Graf von Faber Castell was established.

Motivated by the pocket pencil with extender in 1885, the first Perfect Pencil had both function of the extender and the eraser simultaneously.

It was in 1999 the function of the sharpner included, and the appearance was slightly modified in the procedure.

To live its name, the early Perfect Pencils were made of silver and the end-cap of the pencil was also silver.

In 1997, after the success of Perfect Pencil in Graf von Faber Castell, Faber Castell decided to provide several Perfect Pencils with plastic and aluminium bodies.

Model Castell and model Fun were introduced in the first half, and model Thema and UFO Perfect Pencil were released in the second half.

Model Castell suffered a design modification, and the 1st generation had gold colors while today's model has silver colors in the clip and the pencil.

The other three models are all discontinued for now.

Model Fun and Thema were discontinued long time ago, while UFO model had been sold until some years ago.

UFO Perfect Pencil also had silver color version, which was relatively rare.

There also existed Castell Perfect Pencil in all black color.

This was a limited edition released in Japan, and only 300 pieces were made.

As time goes on, Faber Castell presented two new Perfect Pencils.

They are called Perfect Pencil II and III, which indicate 2nd and 3rd generations.

They have nothing to do with the model Castell, and they are their own unique models.

At last, it's appropriate to talk about GvFC Perfect Pencils again.

As a flagship model of GvFC, they have presented diverse Perfect Pencils including the rosegold model and the magnum series.

GvFC also made several limited editions to celebrate meaningful anniversaries.

The first was Perfect Pencil whitegold released in 2001 for the 240th birthday of Faber Castell.
