In the past, pocket pencils might have been a craze.
These can be treated as predecessors of modern Perfect pencils - easy to carry, protect the lead, and lengthen the short pencil.
Just as the refill pencil of Perfect pencils are shorter than the usual pencils, pocket pencils are different compared to the normal pencils.

Pocket pencils tend to be shorter and smaller in size.
It's natural since pocket pencils were born to be easy to carry.
I have another pocket pencil of A.W
FABER, and it has a distinctive shape as I said.

This pencil I'm going to introduce has the model number 6296.
It comes with a very stylish paper case, adorned with gold cursive letters.
I've seen many cases of A.W. FABER, but this one must be the most asthetic one.

Pencils are circular, tiny and short.
I wonder how A.W.FABER could make these thin and tiny pencils in the early age.
I expect these were made in the 1800s.

Look at this! The pencil is really tiny!
How could they make this?
The diameter of the lead is nearly the same as that of the pencil itself.

The pencil is in shiny brown color, and it is written A.W.F No.00. Germany.
Based on the pencil grade scale (B = No. 1 pencils, HB = No. 2, F = No. 2½, H = No. 3, and 2H = No. 4), No. 0 pencils seem to be 2B pencils.

Let's compare this with the huge pencil, which was made to celebrate Faber Castell's 200th anniversary.
The pocket pencil is not even seen well!
Its size stacks up to the size of a worm.
