FABER CASTELL FOUNTAIN PEN FH40
파버카스텔 FH40 만년필
Have you heard of Faber Castell's DS matics, RO and KS series?
Their model numbers run like DS15, DS45, DS75, and KS10, KS40, and so on.
Many variations exist for DS and KS series.
What are the meaning of DS, RO and KS?
The origin is quite simple - DS for drehbleistift (mechanical pencil in German), RO for rollerball, and KS for kugelschreiber (ballpoint pen in German).
Are there the same series with fountain pens?
The answer is yes.
Füllfederhalter is the German word of fountain pen, so the series has the name "FH."
So the total series are like DSxx, KSxx, and FHxx.
Unlike DS and KS series, FH series are not known that much though.
The above one is FH40.
All the series share the similar design.
They are made of stainless steel, and some higher numbering models have some gold parts like gold clips.
FH40 is believed to be in the middle of the price line, so this one doesn't have gold color parts.
The design looks like modern neo-slim models.
I don't know how FH numberings existed, but I guess it would have been like FH10, FH40, and FH70.
Faber Castell. FH40 W.Germany.
Both the top and the bottom are flat stainless steel.
The stainless steel body has countless numbers of vertical stripe lines.
Also, it has the shining metal color, not the matt color.
This one has a very simple nib.
There is even no name of Faber Castell.
I'm not sure whether this nib really belongs to this pen since this is the first model I've ever seen.
Still, the nib looks like this one, which guarantees that the nib belongs to Faber Castell.
This one seems to have a common nib, not a special one.
