Graf von Faber Castell tends to discontinue gold pens.
I posted another discontinued gold classic model in the past.
Today, I brought Graf von Faber Castell's another discontinued gold pen.

This is the pernambuco gold model.
As the name says, it is made of pernambuco wood.
Pernambuco wood is used to make fiddlesticks due to its perfect density, durability, and flexibility.

It's no surprise that Graf von Faber Castell, the master of wooden fountain pens, adopted this wood to make pens.
Modern pernambuco pens have platinum plated metal parts, so metal parts have its silver color.

As you can see, however, this model has gold plated metal parts!
My personal opinion - I love gold colors so it's lamentable the gold pens are discontinued.
Graf von Faber Castell also changed guilloche's gold color nib into rodium plated nib.

Graf von Faber Castell's old logo and its name.
It seems that the cap and the end cap are the same thing with anello gold model, so they might be convertible.

It's the matter of taste, but I can't believe this gold model wasn't sold well.
I saw that pernambuco gold models were made in only few pieces because of their low sales.

The gold colors are conspicuous with the white background.
It definitely has other charms compared to the silver color version.
