ROTATY FOUNTAIN PEN OF A.W. FABER / AW NO 679
A.W. FABER 회전식 촉 수납 만년필 679
Today, I'd like to introduce a really vintage pen of A.W. FABER.
This seems to date back to 1920's, way before Faber company started to acquire Osmia.
Hence, this pen has totally no sign of Osmia. It's just A.W. FABER's!
The appearance has no common points to Osmia fountain pens.
The cap, the barrel, and the clip - every point is unique.
It has a black plastic body and the clip design is not usual one.
The numbering does not follow that of Osmia's.
It has an independent numbering NO 679.
There exist other fountain pens with numbering like 673, 694, and 696.
Unfortunately, I have no idea on how A.W. FABER's numbering system worked.
I'd call the name AW NO 679.
The cap has a green head and the clip looks like this.
The cap and barrel tend to look simple.
A.W. FABER's nib. Not Osmia's!
14K gold nib, and number 5 might refer to the size or the shape of the nib.
At the beginning, I called it rotary fountain pen.
I never knew that Faber company made rotary fountain pen before I met this thing.
It works like twist pen, e-motion lines, of Faber Castell.
If you rotate the end part of the body, the nib moves back and forward.
In this way, you can safely store the nib!
Quite impressive fountain pen of A.W. FABER.
