A.W. FABER PENCIL ACCESSORIES - PENCIL HOLDER & PENCIL CAP
A.W. FABER 연필 홀더 & 연필 캡
Here are some pencils accessories of A.W. FABER.
Before the advent of the Perfect Pencils, the incompleteness of pencils were already well recognized.
To compensate defects, several auxiliary gears were introduced to pencils.
In fact, these can be considered as the essentials of the Perfect Pencils.
Let me name two major functions of the Perfect Pencil: the extender and the cap for the lead.
A pencil stub is inconvenient to use, and the leads are easily broken.
This type of pencil holder can solve those problems simultaneously.
The usage of this holder is simple.
As one lifts the middle ring, the pencil appears and vice versa.
When the pencil is inside the holder, it is safe.
When the pencil goes out, it becomes longer.
Simple story.
A.W. FABER's name is written on the middle ring.
A.W. FABER had made several pencil extenders.
Some of them are well-known, but this model, with vertical stripes, is new to me at least.
It doesn't have a balance symbol, so I guess it was made earlier than 1914.
Something is written here, but I couldn't figure out what it means.
The letters are so tiny and faint that it's not easy to read.
It looks like this when the pencil is ejected.
A.W. FABER also made a few pencil caps.
Clearly, pencil caps are used to protect the pencil lead from being broken.
The way to use this is exactly identical to the first generation of the Perfect Pencil of Graf von Faber Castell.
These have balance symbols of A.W. FABER, and its name is inscribed along the ring.
Faber Castell even make diverse pencil caps even for today.
An example is an eraser cap.
