PENTEL TRADIO GOLD AND KERRY SILVER

PENTEL GOLD & SILVER - TRADIO GOLD AND KERRY SILVER MECHANICAL PENCILS

펜텔 - 트라디오 골드 & 케리 실버 샤프

Pentel tradio

These two mechanical pencils of Pentel have caps unlike most mechanical pencils.
They rather look like a fountain pen than a mechanical pencil.

That's why I love both of them.
Their unique designs make them more valuable.

This tradio mechanical pencil has glittering dark gold color.
This fountain pen looking series actually has fountain pen versions and rollerballs.
However, both mechanical pencil and fountain pen versions were discontinued.

Pentel tradio

Tradio porte-mine.
Porte mine means mechanical pencil in French.
I don't know the meaning of Tradio though.
There is a window in the cap so that one can see the cone part.

Pentel tradio

The same name tradio is printed at the center ring.
That part is silver color.

Pentel tradio

Tradio adopted side-knock mechanism.
The push button is right inside the grip.
This mechanism could be comfortable to some people, but others might feel awkward with using it.
To use this effectively, one needs to grab the pen with the button, controlling the power of the finger.

It looks more like a fountain pen when the cap is open.

Pentel kerry

This is Pentel's kerry mechanical pencil.
I already posted the 50th anniversary version of kerry mechanical pencil, so I wouldn't talk much about this.

It also looks like a fountain pen, and has attractive dark silver color.
In fact, some people remodel it into the fountain pen.

When Pentel designed this, they seemed to have fountain pens in their mind.
It now has the name Kerry, but its name was 万年CIL in the past.
It appears to be the abbreviation of 万年 mechanical penCIL, and fountain pens are 万年筆 in Japanese.
The name tells why this mechanical pencil looks like a fountain pen.
